Stop Underarm Sweat - Can Antiperspirants Cure Excessive Underarm Sweat?

A lot of people make the mistake in buying a deodorant thinking that it will stop underarm sweat. The fact is, deodorants simply cover up the smell but don't prevent underarm sweating. For that you would need an antiperspirant.

Antiperspirants contain aluminum compounds that actually work to stop excessive underarm sweating at the source. Once applied, the aluminum compounds are taken into the cells near the sweat glands along with water. The water causes the cells to expand and squeezes the sweat glands shut, preventing or at least minimizing underarm sweat

Sometimes over the counter antiperspirants aren't enough and you may need to consult a physician to see about obtaining a prescription antiperspirant. This can be a viable method to stop underarm sweat however there may be some side effects involved such as bleached under arms or skin rashes. If such a condition arises, discontinue use and contact your physician immediately.
